Devara-1 is an action drama directed by Koratala Siva with NTR as the protagonist. Janhvi Kapoor is the heroine. Saif Ali Khan played the villain. Let's go into the review and see how this movie fares.
Story:
There are four villages in the hilly area of the dense forest on the shores of the Red Sea. (NTR) He stands by a village. Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan) is the elder of another village. Devara and Bhaira along with the other two villages used to loot in the ships that come on the sea. Due to some dramatic developments in this sequence, Devaraki clashes with Bhaira batch through Murugan. Why did Devara turn against them?, What is the reason why Devara disappeared?, Why is Devara's son Vara (played by Young NTR in another role) afraid? , what did Vara do for Devara? That is the rest of the story.
Maximum Marks:
As always, NTR has acted brilliantly in both the roles of Devara and Varada (Vara). Tarak's performance in a dual role is the main highlight of the entire movie. NTR's portrayal of 'a man who instills fear in those who live by making mistakes' is truly at that level. The film is exactly what his fans want from NTR, and this film has gone with huge visuals and 'viral wild action and emotional elements'. And according to them, NTR mesmerized the audience with his powerful performance and different variations in his roles.
Janhvi Kapoor, who was introduced to the Telugu screen with Devara, performed very well in her role in Thangam. Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan also lived the role of 'Bhaira'. The depth of Saif's character is impressive. Director Koratala Siva has shaped his character as a tribute to NTR's role. Marathi actress Shruti Marathe acted very well. Her screen presence is also very good. Srikanth and Prakash Raj who appeared in other key roles impressed with their roles. Similarly, Shine Tom Chacko, Ajay and the rest of the cast also impressed with their performance in the roles of Aya.
Although this movie is set in the background of a good story, the way it has been designed with a different concept in line with a commercial movie is very good. The main highlights of the movie are the underwater sequences in the climax and pre-climax. NTR's performance in those water scenes also stands out. Shark shots are good in the movie. According to that, the action sequences in the sea have been designed effectively and very well. Along with the filming of the characters according to the conditions of the coastal areas, the background of the characters has also been designed perfectly. The acting of the characters in the key scenes is very impressive. And the suspense that runs from the point of view of Devara's character is good.
Low Marks:
This 'high action emotional entertainer' with heavy emotions and huge visuals is very impressive. Some of the scenes in terms of the story did not fully impress the audience as they were reduced to the level of the movie. Also, they could not continue the high power as much as in the movie. And the love track between Janhvi Kapoor and NTR would have been better with more romantic scenes.
On the whole, the director Koratala Siva, who has shown good performance in the key scenes along with the main base theme that he wanted to tell in the story, seems to have moved slowly in the remaining few scenes. Although there is a possibility to make those scenes more interesting, the director is only interested in elevating the emotional drama that he wants, but the audience feels a bit disappointed.
Technical Department:
Talking about the technical aspect of this movie. Cinematographer R. Ratnavelu's cinematography work is amazing. The important scenes and action scenes of the movie are also depicted with excellent graphical work in accordance with the story. Srikar Prasad's editing is also very good. And the songs composed by music director Anirudh Ravichander are very good. Their picturization is also good. The background music is also impressive. Koratala Siva has done full justice to this film as writer and director. The film is interestingly crafted with a good story and strong diverse characters. The scenes in the sea are well shot without compromising
Producers Mikkilineni Sudhakar, Kosaraju Harikrishna, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram made this film without any compromise. Their production values are amazing.
Feedback:
A good visual wonder in an emotional action drama. Good emotions along with wild action sequences are also very good. Especially NTR's powerful looking acting, Koratala's direction and good work from the entire technical department. The entire movie was a special attraction.
(If Veera asked, it would be a fish) For NTR fans, Dasara festival is here.
